There can be unexpected hazards when buying a second hand caravan
– and more unexpected hazards when
helping out a friend

"I've bought a caravan and I
wonder if you could pick it up and bring it home for me." This was from a friend.
“Sure,” I said. “No problem.”
"It's a 24-footer."
“Aah, I don't think my Pajero would be capable of towing it
comfortably.”
"That's okay. I've bought a Nissan Patrol that should do the trick. You could pick it up on the way to collecting the van."
Why not? Where is this truck?
"Melbourne."
I like Melbourne, but what about my expenses from Newcastle?
"Don't worry about the cost. I'll cover everything. You only have to get the vehicles back here."
An all-expenses-paid holiday. I'll be in that. Er, by the way, where's the van?
"Tom Price."
